At the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala, New York, Renee Zellweger posed in front of the shutterbugs with great confidence, flaunting her slim figure in a backless gold gown. After she had put on weight for her role in Bridget Jones, she is now slim and sexy again.
The Bridget Jones star posed in a backless gold Carolina Harrera gown which showed off her bony and muscular back. Looking at the fact that she had kept her hair pinned up, it looked as if she wanted all the attention on her back.
Zellweger seemed quite thrilled about her outfit as she posed for the cameras. Her shoulder blades looked very prominent in the dress. This gives us a sign that the 42-year-old star is working out in the gym for getting a good toned body.
She is known to be in the news for her weight. She actually tested her weight loss skills to the limits after the completion of Bridget Jones, for which, she had gained weight. Speculations are that apart from her pay of £9.5 million for the movie, she was awarded a bonus sum of money for every pound she gained in the sequel of Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, which hit the box office in 2004.
Renee gained 20 pounds for Bridget Jones and 30 pounds for its sequel. After the completion of these projects, she went on with harsh physical regimes to lose weight. She has been known to workout hard, virtually every day in the gym to maintain her slim figure.
And if the third movie in the Bridget Jones series is to be made, she has thought that she'd wear a fat suit for the role as she is worried about her health. Talking about her weight loss, she said, “Can I just tell you my body is whacked by the time we finish one of those! It doesn't know what has happened because it thinks there's supposed to be a baby and there's no christening.”
She continued, “I had a panic attack with all the specialists talking about how bad this is for you, long term, putting on that much weight in short periods of time. And they're all saying, 'You must stop this now or you're going to die'.”
Almost every second women of this decade has identified herself with Bridget Jones, putting a lot of responsibility on Renee's shoulders. Her yo-yo dieting and drastic weight loss efforts will worry a lot of women, who have put her on a pedestal and are inspired by her
